Used for: city names, countries, coordinates and baseline population figures. Baseline date on this site: 2026-05-20.
United Nations World Population Prospects
Used for: country-level crude birth rates and crude death rates that drive the live counters.
World Bank Open Data
Used for: national life expectancy estimates and demographic cross-checks.
IANA Time Zone Database
Used for: valid IANA timezone identifiers and UTC offsets. If the import file does not include a city timezone, the plugin falls back to the first IANA zone for that country, which may be inaccurate in countries with multiple time zones.
